Tour of Unity Hall at WPI

Join us for a tour of Worcester Polytechnic Institute's new academic and student services building, Unity Hall. Architects from Gensler will provide a tour of the building followed by a discussion of the design and construction of the facility.

WHERE: This in-person event will be held on the campus of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The tour will begin in the 5th floor lobby area of the Unity Building

Learning Objectives: 

1. Participants will learn about the process of programming and planning an interdisciplinary research building for a new generation of students and faculty working and thinking across disciplines.  This will include examples of flexible labs, classrooms, collaboration, and social spaces.
2. Participants will learn about the collaborative design process that included engagement with administration, faculty, staff, students.
3. Participants will gain an understanding of the how building was designed to respond to its steep hillside context, making a connection between upper and lower campus, and creating an accessible route.
4. Participants will tour the building and learn about the strategies that were used to achieve LEED Gold certification.
